Sarah Lindsay
Program Assistant
Sarah’s passion for community development started at an early age through volunteering at home in the Bay Area, and continued to grow as she began to travel, study, volunteer, and work in Central America and the Caribbean. She graduated from Connecticut College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American Studies and Hispanic Studies, and was a scholar in the college’s Holleran Center for Community Action and Public Policy (PICA). As a PICA scholar, she studied local non-governmental organizations in Latin America and their effectiveness in promoting sustainable development missions and programs; for her work inside and outside the classroom, she received the Holleran Center’s Scholar Activist Award.
While attending college, Sarah spent a summer in the Dominican Republic as an intern for Cambiando Vidas (Changing Lives), a non-profit organization that designs and implements community-based projects. Upon her return, she founded Cambiando Vidas’ first college chapter at Connecticut College, and currently serves a member of their Board of Directors. Also, as part of her college studies, she spent a semester in Nicaragua focusing on Revolution, Transformation, and Civil Society. Sarah previously served as a volunteer for Amigos de las Americas in Costa Rica, and as a local trainer for this organization. She is fluent in Spanish.
Sarah enjoys traveling, and playing water polo, and was the captain of her varsity water polo team at Connecticut College.
